Devil's Brdge

by Earl E. Gibson

Devil's Bridge is the largest natural sandstone arch in the Sedona area. There are multiple trail-heads of varying distances. Please research the best starting point for you and your group. The initial part of the hike is not that exciting, but when you get to the end and see the Arch/Bridge, you will be thankful you stayed the course.

There is a bit of a step climb at the end, but I am sure you will find it worth the effort. Devils Bridge is situated at the edge of a wide valley on the north side of Capital Butte. In an area called the Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness. This is a stunning area to take photos. As you hike the various trails that head to Devil's Bridge, you will pass signs of many other trails you can take. Research before you take these trails to make sure you know where you are going and what you are getting yourself into when it comes to the hiking distances.

I have hiked this area a couple of times and I always find the other hikes friendly and patient while allowing others to get out on the bridge and take photos or get photos taken. Be careful along the edges. Only takes a little loose gravel or sand to make you slip and it is a bit of a ways down.
